We were put in touch with Megan who has so much experience with Asian weddings that we felt we didn’t need to explain the intricacies of the Hindu ceremony and she was even able to pick up on details that we had forgot to mention. Megan also has a great contacts with well-established and reputable Hindu wedding vendors, inc our Hindu priest (!) and so the ease of communication between Davenport House and the vendors made life so much easier for us.
We then chose to have the Hindu ceremony at the back of the house in the gardens with the stunning Shropshire Hills as the background. We chose a simple mandap that allowed the scenery to be our backdrop. Once again no problem at all. Our barat (groom’s procession) arrived along the grand driveway at the front of the house and we were able to use colour flares and an Indian dhol player to add the colour and sparkle of a Hindu wedding and then we’re guided through the house to the back steps and the mandap in the gardens. I felt we were really able to make use of the entire house and show it off our guests.
Our sound technicians were also able to provide music for the ceremonies both at the front and back of the house which was an added bonus.
When the day arrived, Megan was onsite to welcome me to the bridal cottage the night before. It was the perfect relaxing cottage to spend the night with your bridal team and get ready the next morning. The mirrors and dressing stations were perfect and the natural light really helped by MUA too!
The actual wedding day was amazing! With so much packed into one day, Megan was perfect at making sure everything ran to time. The meetings we had beforehand meant that Megan and her team were able to take the smaller details out of our hands and the pressure was taken off us and we were allowed to enjoy the day with our family and guests. Nothing was too much trouble and as the couple we were so well looked after with drinks and food coming our way all the time!
We cannot speak highly enough and would 100% recommend to any prospective couples.
